Last week, while my family was in Boston for a mini-vacation, I had the chance to visit with Angela Liguori, the owner and designer of Studio Carta, an internationally recognized design studio that specializes in custom ribbons from Italy and fine stationary. It was such a treat!
All of the pieces in Hudson + Daughter's Bespoke Bamboo Punch collection are finished with the gorgeous, 100% cotton ribbon, sourced by Angela from Italy and designed and packaged by Studio Carta in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Studio Carta is appointment-only since most of its business is wholesale, however the online shop full of ribbon and stationary is always open to all. Running a mostly-wholesale business requires less space (Angela's desk is in the center of the studio, and doesn't need to be tucked into a back room) and more flexibility for hosting events (she recently ran a calligraphy workshop taught by the super-talented artist/calligrapher Maybelle Imasa-Stukuls.) The studio has such a fresh and vibrant vibe—wouldn't you just want to hang out here all day?
Angela wasn't always in this space—she started her business from home when her three children were of preschool age. (My jaw dropped when she told me this; she's obviously a superwoman, too!) Her children are now well into their schooling, and I loved what she had to say about the day the youngest child enters kindergarten: it is amazing what you can get done in those six hours!
Learn more about Studio Carta right here, and you'll see why Angela's shop is our go-to source for high-quality, 100% cotton ribbon.
